Britt was born in Svolvaer. Norway in 1937.
From 1959 to 1962 she studied painting and sculpture with Ellen Christensen and Ferdinand Lunde in Oslo, Norway.
Her début was in Paris at the " Galerie de I' Université " in 1965. She has exhibited internationally on several occasions in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, USA, Switzerland. Norway and Egypt. Her works are part of private and public collections Worldwide.
Britt participated in the Abstract Expressionist Movement in Europe in the 60's and 70's, and she still considers herself a part of the Abstract Expressionistic School.
Britt has resided for over 30 years in a rich and colorful environment in Egypt. By using remnants of Egyptian culture and her own European heritage she expresses herself through her very own strong and vibrant colors.
For her very special contribution to the art she was awarded the highest Norwegian honor given to an artist, the "St. Olav Order" in 1996.
